Sten and Lex are two brothers that works for the cleasing departament of Rome. Their job lead them to get interested into the urban landscape. So they begun to realize big size stencil and poster to degrade the city. They create portrayed of the characters they meet in the street as prostitutes and tramps. Their interest for the engraving art influences them to draw popes and queens from the past. Sten & Lex use mosty the half tone and net tecnique for their stencil and the favourite colours are black and white. They work in Rome with the artist Lucamaleonte.

Sten e Lex sono due fratelli che lavorano alla nettezza urbana di Roma. La professione di netturbino li ha portati ad interessarsi al paesaggio urbano. Hanno quindi iniziato a realizzare stencil e poster di grandi dimensioni per degradare la città. Realizzano ritratti dei personaggi che incontrano per strada, prostitute e barboni e il loro interesse per la grafica incisoria li conduce a volte a disegnare papi e regine del passato. Utilizzano principalmente la tecnica della mezzatinta nello stencil, attraverso l’uso della retinatura e prediligono i colori principali il bianco e il nero. Lavorano a Roma assieme a l’artista Lucamaleonte.
