This is the exhibition catalog from "The Tree Show" at the Michael Kohn Gallery in Los Angeles in 2007. It features paintings, drawings, sketches, and documentary photography of sculpture and installations. Creepily cute depictions of interactions between trees, little girls, toys, dolls, iconic figures and more. Ryden combines the arcane with pop images to make his leaps into fantasy. Ryden's series includes depictions of oak trees consuming children, floating tree stumps with "seeing" eyes, imaginary wood nymphs and mythological characters.
